About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do a bit of free living and aquire some real human experiences while I still can! Freedoms to do so are ephemeral, and to be cherished.

ABOUT ME

Hi folks, I am Logan; a recent college graduate living in Winona, Minnesota. I am deeply passionate about the conservation of the natural world, bicycles, and the improvement of the relationships between human beings and the former two items. Also, science! - ecology, botany, entomology, astronomy, etc. Etc, etc, etc...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Used a similar site, warmshowers.org, which is very much like CS but devoted to and hosted by bicycle tourists, in Ireland last summer. Had a fantastic experience with this system. I surfed for over a month straight in France, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Germany last summer, and had some of the most wonderful human beings as hosts. I am currently offering my couch in Winona, MN.

Music, Movies, and Books

Works by the following authors have been absolutely fundamental in shaping my world view: Henry David Thoreau, Wendell Berry, Ray Bradbury, George Orwell, Charles Darwin, Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Arthur C. Clarke, Plato, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Jack Kerouac, Jon Krakauer, Kurt Vonnegut, Aldous Huxley.

Some music that is particularly moving to me: Sigur Rós, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Animal Collective, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Bob Dylan, Schubert, Chopin, Bach, Destroyer, Portugal. The Man, The Mars Volta, and Radiohead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went a whole day without coffee once. On lesser note, I rode my bicycle a little over a thousand solo miles around Ireland during June of last year, and have commuted by bicycle a little over a thousand miles this summer in Minnesota. For some strange reason, I never missed a single class period in my four years of undergraduate study.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be eternally indebted to anyone with the patience and knowledge to allow me to attempt to improve my extremely limited French.

Countries I’ve Visited
