Overview
About Me
I study and work in Montreal, and grew up in Caledon (near Toronto). I have done a fair amount of surfing and enjoy hosting when I have the chance. I am also open to showing people around the city and would be happy to meet up.
If you are asking to be hosted:
- I generally decide who to host a few days in advance
- I will prioritize hosting people who have been hosts themselves
- I will not host people who have no references, for safety reasons
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I lived with host families for a year while I was a high school exchange student in Brazil and loved it! Since then, I've known that staying with locals is the best way to travel and get to know a new place.
I have also done some surfing through this site in Switzerland, Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Guatemala, and Mexico, and have had some really unforgettable experiences!
I host in Montreal whenever I can so that I can pass on the generosity that other hosts have shown me. Especially, I aim to host back someone who has hosted me, or to surf with someone I've hosted. I was finally able to accomplish this in March 2016 - I hosted a guy from Geneva who was my first CS host ever (in February 2014 - more than two years prior). :D So awesome to return the favour!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to a mix of indie, rock, pop, and electronic.
Movies: It's really easy to find a movie to watch with me because I probably haven't seen it yet!
Books: I read books much more often than I watch movies. and have been making really good use of my library card. The books I've read the most recently include: Looking for Alaska, Norwegian Wood, Life of Pi, The Sun Also Rises, This Side of Paradise, Big Sur, The Great Gatsby, The Beautiful and Damned, On the Road, The Subterraneans.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Coasting on a bicycle as the Netherlands celebrates its King's Day with boats of people wearing orange and partying on every street.
Riding on the back of a motorcycle to the top of a mountain to watch the sun set over the Alps in Italy.
Dancing in the living room and morning walks alongside Lake Geneva with a Swiss school teacher.
Driving through the winding roads of the incredible calanques along a perfect blue sea in the south of France.
Speaking Portuguese all day in Portugal, tasting pastais de nata and bacalhau, and admiring golden and porcelain churches.
Wandering the winding streets and serene parks of Brussels, learning the history of the EU and drinking at Guinness World Record Breaking bars.
Swimming in crystal clear waterfalls surrounded by lush jungle in Mexico.
Wading through natural hot springs on the top of a mountain in Guatemala.
And so many more unforgettable moments made possible with the help of couchsurfing and generous hosts!
