About Me
Hi there! I love meeting new people and broadening my horizons as much as possible. I love to laugh and share all that I can with the people around me. I consider myself a loving and open-minded person and it means a lot to me to make the people around me as happy and comfortable as possible. I enjoy both fun, crazy moments of the day and the quiet calm of being silent and relaxed next to the people you care about. I think it's important to stop sometimes and appreciate the smaller things we forget to notice in our daily lives. I just love being alive and exploring what it means to be human in this crazy world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hosting people in our home and sharing my love of our city with visitors. Its always refreshing to see the joy of people seeing your day-to-day attractions for the first time and regaining your appreciation for the city through their eyes.
I've had wonderful experiences with couch surfing and love to keep the spirit alive. It's been a few years since I've been active in the community and now that I'm settled in a new house with some more room I'm ready to share it with other explorers again.
Interests
Im an outdoors person. I love biology and animals and often go hiking all over the Bay Area to bird watch, find reptiles and enjoy nature. I also love camping and exploring new places including new parts of the city. Gardening, drawing/painting, rock climbing, and spending time playing games with friends are my biggest hobbies. I love sharing food and cooking with other people, especially if it's outdoors. I'm a huge nerd and frequently play board games and read comics in my spare time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love old Jazz and Bluegrass on a daily basis but also enjoy Punk, Rock, Ska, and other similar genres
Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. I especially enjoy getting lost in good fantasy/sci-fi books. Some of my favorites are The Name of the Wind and Ender's Game. I also love non-fiction literature like Blink, Freakenomics and the Omnivore's Dilema. And so many comics! Saga, Scott Pilgrim, Seconds, Locke & Key, Sandman, just to name a few.
There are too many good movies to pick them all out...anything by Joss Whedon is a go-to for me. Scary movies and old, laughably bad movies are one of my favorites to watch with friends. The TV show Arrested Development is one of my all-time favorites along with 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Adventure Time, and Louie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favorite adventure was climbing to the top of Mt. Daimonji behind the Ginkakuji Temple in Japan and seeing the whole of Kyoto. I've never been so happy as I was seeing a new place from up high, and with some truly wonderful Couch Surfing friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can always help you practice English, and I love to learn and practice other languages (my Japanese in particular is very rusty)
I love to cook and share food with friends and would love to swap recipes and food specialties.
Since gardening and animal care have been a part of my life I'm happy to share knowledge and experiences with urban farming.
I love to bird watch, it was one of my focuses in school, and could teach you a few basics if you're new to birds, or just share an afternoon of hiking trough my favorite nature areas.
I would love to learn about your experiences and skills!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share anything if it is within my power to do so .
