About Me

Currently on a roadtrip from British Columbia through Alberta in my new Subaru. Looking to connect with people to explore some trails, share stories and have a laugh.

Hello!

My name is Eleanor (LNR) and I just moved to Canada from the wild emerald island of Ireland.
I like to create and cocreate and have a zeal for growth, learning, new experiences and mad adventures, venturing into the unknown and escaping the urban jungle. I am adaptable, and can make people laugh and am certain I can be a big asset to your couchsurfing experience.

Interests

There's very little I am not curious about.

I make music, mostly solo these days. I love to experiment with sounds and just built my first guitar pedal! It's called the Screaming Hairy Armadillo.

I have a keen interest in social justice, sustainability and sustainable practice, renewable energy, farming, growing & harvesting crops, permaculture, urban gardening/non-urban and recently established a student sustainability collective.

I love to be silly, boogie, laugh, make music, experiment, ride bikes, I love books & finding new places and thrills. I like electricity and making things. I love colours and shapes and I love to paint. I like yoga and movement.

Music, Movies, and Books

I believe music is a universal communication medium which transcends national languages. It brings humans with no cultural similarities and no ability to speak eachother's language together, in a fantastic instant of melodic and rhythmic togetherness. Music and movement dissolves imaginary boundaries between different races and erodes our preconceived cultural narratives. Music is magic.
I like rhythm and melodies in all forms, from jazz to techno to african to soul to country to hiphop to psychedelic & experimental.

I've just finished reading Slaughterhouse 5, Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Wasp Factory (an absolutely mental book)
Into the Wild / 1984 / On the Road / A Brief History of Everything / The Acid Test / Alice in Wonderland / Doors of Perception / Jungle Book

Jim Carey / Robin Williams
Ex Machina, Dead Poet's Society, Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, Shawshank Redemption, Song Remains the Same, Submarine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once cycled across Holland on a €20 bike with nothing but some brocolli, a paper map, a block of hash and four hours of Funkadelic on my phone, raced across Europe from Ireland to Rome with no money dressed a glittery space cowboy.
