Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up, my mom took me everywhere - Florida, California, France, Spain, Aruba, Ecuador, Armenia, New York, and more - and taught me how to explore the world on a budget. Now, as a college student, I still have that strong desire to explore new places and see new things... but sometimes my bank account doesn't let me stay in nice hotels. That's fine with me, though - I love meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I'm down with some big pop artists like Kesha, Lorde, Ariana Grande, and Janelle Monae. I also love classic rock like Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin, and alternative rock like Everything Everything and Muse. (Is Panic! at the Disco considered alt-rock?) But more than anything, my heart truly belongs to female-fronted rock/punk bands like Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, and Daddy Issues. I also love going to music festivals and becoming obsessed with the random artists I discover there.

Movies:
Just like with music, I love my movies women-led. Some favorites are Juno, Pitch Perfect, But I'm a Cheerleader, and Bridget Jones' Diary.

Books:
I can't remember the last time I read a book for pleasure, but it was probably during my John Green phase. I love Harry Potter (obviously) and I'll always have a soft spot for the Percy Jackson series. Among the books I've read recently for school, my favorites include The Stranger by Albert Camus, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 I finished the shampoo and conditioner bottles at the same time and I'm still riding that high.
