ABOUT ME

I'm a man of many faces - student/teacher, musician, gardener, party animal, nerd. My current ongoing obsessions include my home studio setup, trying to get a useful vegie garden going, and solving the errors of society's ways through idealistic and sometimes intoxicated discussion. I believe foremost in mutual respect and minimising excess/gratuity in the way we live our lives.

PHILOSOPHY

As mentioned, I think as long as people give respect mutually and freely, and live with as litte excess as possible it's hard to go wrong. In terms of the BIGGER picture, we won't get into that right now... need something to talk about right? :) It's all about being happy and loving living at the core, and realising that doing that is a lot easier than it sometimes seems.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to offer hosting as far as I can fit it, and have done so both informally and through couchsurfing before hand. Particularly interested in helping out travelling musos/creatives, as this is what I joined CS for and I know how tough and expensive it can be on tour!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been graciously hosted on a few occasions whilst touring with my band in Melbourne, and we had a great time. I find it's more about the atmosphere and people than the comfort of the bed. Similarly in terms of hosting, the surfers who are friendly and invloved are much more enjoyable than the reclusive or elusive ones.

Interests

Music in many ways - I play bass, guitar, keys, drums and sing, as well as recording and mixing and live sound. Love going to gigs and looking to listen to more new music at the moment!
Reading - always have to have a book on the go.
Gardening - anyone who likes getting hands a bit dirty is more than welcome!

Teach, Learn, Share

Jamming would definitely be on the table, we could even record some tracks! Happy to share playing/recording/mixing knowledge as well as any related music tech stuff. Also have quals in landscaping and horticulture, though my garden doesn't show it.. yet! And i'm training to be a maths and physics teacher, if that ever comes in handy for a surfer...
