Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To figure out how to balance exploring near and faraway places
ABOUT ME
I was born in New York but mostly raised in Hicksville, NJ, i.e. the middle of nowhere. I got out of there as fast as I could: I went to college in California, and studied abroad three times, in England, Japan, and then China. Officially I work in technology, but my real passion is foreign languages and literature. I'm especially fascinated by Asian culture.
Right now, I'm working, trying to gain some experience and some money before I take off for my next adventure. I plan to travel/live around the world for about a year at some point in the near future. Come visit me in New York and then return the favor ;)
PHILOSOPHY
Live in the present. Enjoy your youth while it lasts. Be open-minded, compassionate, and faithful. I'm spiritual but not religious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to make friends with other CouchSurfers. I want to host people and share the experience of Hong Kong with them.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted some awesome people while I lived in New York. I'm looking forward to hosting more awesome CSers in Hong Kong, and hopefully surfing some couches myself one day.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite books are Norwegian Wood, by Murakami Haruki, and The Great Gatsby.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Mt. Everest! Not all the way to the top, of course...
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I have a pretty deep understanding of Asian traditional culture, especially Japanese, for someone who was born and raised in the west and has no Asian roots per se. I read a lot of Asian literature and spend a lot of time there. I'd love to share my experience with someone with similar interests.
