About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I hope to see every country I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going guy with an OK sense of direction and a fascination for culture. On travel, I like see what the nightlife and music scenes have to offer. I also enjoy very much learning languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am changing cities for work presently. But once I'm settled in, I would love entertain my weary fellow travelers. Check back in with me to see where I am in my move.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new to CouchSurfing.org, as far as finding a crash-pad, but I have always had a fine time visiting with friends abroad, and hosting them too. It seems like a great idea to me!!

Interests

I have many interests outside of my chosen career of Aerospace Product Development. I have made a hobby of restoring antiques like: Pianos, guitars, wind and other symphony related instruments, cars, & motorcycles; to name a few. These have all been things which have fascinated me enough to use them. I have been lucky enough to drive cross-country on my antique motorcycles. I would love to do this in Australia, Asia, Europe, and basically any place to which I could ferry or otherwise find a bike to use. From a standpoint of going place-to-place, I will also admit that I love a good hike or bicycle tour; especially when I can go along with good friends who don't mind getting away from civilization from time to time.

I am also an active musician, and my interests in playing music have allowed me meet many wonderful people across my own country and abroad. I have been known to take students and to compose in my spare time.

These days however, I have been making a point to devote much of my time away from work to traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For all of the new-fangled/modern things that I use or design in this world, I have found myself dumfounded more than once by nature. Once, I was on a hike through the mountains. On the morning of the third day, I awoke to a high fog that had set-in below me through the valleys. It was a very beautiful thing to behold --as if the world consisted only of the mountains and myself.

Another moment that comes to mind is dropping through the clouds over Hawaii. I flew out on the N.W. coast of Oahu, in a 6-seater, with some friends to go skydiving. The clouds were out over the west side of the island. Looking off in the distance we watched all but the top of Kaʻala disappear from our view. We rode it to 15,000 feet and jumped. I fell through a wet cloud with raindrops striking my face, and when I broke through, I was moved. Looking down I could see the ocean’s floor through the clear sea. And a lush, green countryside, at the feet of a volcano, jutting out from a wide blue ocean; it was something.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, when I'm over at friends places, I try very hard to be be a good guest, and generally I'm grateful to have such a good relationship with these people that they are cool with my chilling there. Don't be shocked if I ask you what I can do around the house to lend a hand or how leave the bed-area in the morning as to be out of the way...
