About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm just your average college student trying to get through school (while trying to have alot of fun) and get a job that pays 9 or 10 figures... shouldn't be too hard, eh? I just moved to Oxford from Starkville where I lived for a couple of years after Katrina (before that I'm from Laurel).

I am, as my friends say, "a little quirky, but once you get to know some more would do anything for you."

PHILOSOPHY

I would have to say that there is a saying from South Africa which sums up my philosophy succinctly....

"Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu", which means that a person is a person through other persons.

...it is about ‘us’ as opposed to ‘I’. I am who I am because of my community, my tribe. We connect through social intercourse, through practices and traditions. We are interdependent on each other for our development and fulfilment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated yet...however am hoping to volunteer some of my time to this great community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet.... although did stay with a friend for a couple of weeks while in the process of moving, great guy, and it worked out pretty good. Also, I now know that if he ever needed a roomie I'd definitely be up for it.

Interests

Books, TV, Computer, Games, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, finding something to do in Oxford, making new friends... also am very interested in things like renewable/clean energy, replanting the amazon, etc. ...I just believe that it's through those things we can strengthen the economy, lower the cost of living and preserve (or better) what we have now for our kids.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An amazing thing that I've seen in my lifetime is so much (yet so little) of the world... my family travels alot and so I've driven through most of the USA, have been to Canada, Mexico, England, France, and Italy. It's just amazing to see how everything can be so different, yet is so much the same.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll be completely honest... I'm not too sure of what I can teach... I'm sort of a jack-of-all-trades, yet master of none sorta guy.

As for what I'd like to learn, I'm willing to learn what anybody is willing to teach....the moment that you stop learning is the moment you die.
