About Me

Meditative, open-minded human trying to experience as much in life as possible. I travel every chance I get!
I'm a 2018 graduate of mechanical engineering from University of Wisconsin - Madison, and I've been working as a designer of anesthesia machines.
I was also an Eagle Scout so I still practice my wilderness skills often, spending as much time in the backcountry as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting locals is one of the most fulfilling parts of travel! I'm hoping to exchange stories and learn more about life in the places I'm traveling through. From the trips I've taken, I've realized that everyone knows something you don't, every person has intrinsic value, and most humans want the best for everyone else. Couchsurfing is one of the best outlets I know for exploring this.

Interests

I spend as much time backpacking, hiking, kayaking, climbing, fishing, running, biking, and foraging as possible. If you find me indoors I'm probably playing an instrument, brewing obscure wines, reading, or building something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I flew to Cuba on a whim and without a plan. I ended up hitching rides across the country, staying in random homes along the way, and meeting the most fascinating and inspirational people.
I also climbed Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador, the furthest point on the planet from the center of the earth.
