My girlfriend (Ellyn) and I left Canada in November 2022 and have been traveling since! With my parents actually, which was a great opportunity to catch up after years away from them. Just recently we have decided to give couch surfing a try now that it is just the two of us. We both have a passion for travel, mainly because we are big-time hikers and love experiencing other cultures.

A little about us: I am an acupuncturist & health coach, and my girlfriend is a teacher. We are both from Alberta but we have been living in British Columbia before we set off. We love spending time in nature, sightseeing, meeting new people, and sharing experiences.

We see couchsurfing as an opportunity to meet more people, more experience, more cultures, more countries and extend our travel time. It always seems that the moments you remember forever or that really impact you are from a more authentic experience or option to traveling, I find you get to know a place at a deeper level when you meet local people and get their experiences or recommendations.

I kind of live under a rock and don't watch a ton of movies, or music I'll go for just about anything depending on the mood and books are mostly mountain adventure-type books or health-related.

Ellyn on the other hand is very musically inclined and played violin growing up and can also jump on a piano!

Probably have to go with some of my highlight hikes. O'Hara Lake, Rockwall and Mt Temple in Canada. Santa Cruz Trek, Inca Trail and Huayna Picchu in Peru, Tiger Leaping Gorge in China, Na Pali Coast and Stairway to Heaven in Hawaii.

Ellyn: also traveled to all the highlights of Peru, traveling across Canada with one of my best friends (our country is so big!), and getting through not, one but two degrees. (Education, and Environment Sciences)

Ellyn: I teach English online now that we are traveling instead of in the classroom (mostly sciences back then), so if you are learning English or want some help in any aspect I am always willing to teach you!

We have both been hiking all over the Canadian Rockies for years so if you ever plan to go we can share the best spots with you.
