I'm first and foremost a man after God's own heart. I live my life for the purpose to glorify Jesus, not in a religious manner, but to know who God is and have a relationship with Him. I'm reminded of how truly loved I am because Jesus chose to save me, to forgive me, restore me, and give me hope.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

I'm open to spiritual discussions, and I won't force my faith on anyone who doesn't want to hear it. I believe God wants us to choose Him freely because He gave us free will.

Secondly, I'm kind of a dreamer. I like to live on the edge sometimes, but also find comfort in the moment and drink it in slowly. I'm a healthy mix of adventurous and rule follower. I went to college to become a writer, or possibly, an entrepreneur, but now I find myself assisting students with special needs. I've found many joys in working with kids, and I love seeing them learn new skills and become confident and social young men and women.

I'm also an engaged man, and looking to be married in September. Lots of excitement in this time of my life. We both love God, and love to grow as Christ followers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing for a few reasons. I love to travel, and I love to explore other cultures and people. I'm fascinated by the stories that our lives are filled with. I want to be able to share experiences, and encourage others in their own pursuits. I believe we are all intended to do great things, and that the life we live is purposed for more than we can imagine.

I recently signed up for Couchsurfing because I will be going to Europe this summer with my roommate, Kevin. We are attempting to bike from Dublin, IR, to Rome. We expect our trip to last 70 days, and hopefully we can do it all by bike. I want to do this trip because it is my last summer as a single man, and I would like to bike across the world in my lifetime. I've already biked across the U.S. when I was 19, and so now I'm on to Europe.

Interests

I enjoy being with friends, usually smaller groups of people. I love being outdoors, hiking, biking, fishing, and camping.

I also play ice hockey and have played competitively since age seven. I play basketball and many other sports too.

Music is a passion of mine. I love to sing and play guitar, and would love to learn how to play as many instruments as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy mostly Christian music, but also indie folk and alternative radio.
My favorite bands are United Pursuit Band, All Sons and Daughters, Judah and the Lion, and Head and the Heart.

I read mostly Christian novels, but also enjoy poetry or creative non-fiction short stories. I also like some adventurous fiction novels like Harry Potter, or Chronicles of Narnia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've biked across the U.S, rafted and hiked in Alaska, climbed Longs Peak in Colorado, went to Haiti for a month to learn about Christian missions, snorkeled and surfed in the Caribbean, and saw the sunset over the Grand Canyon.
