I'm a Vietnamese-Australian with profound deafness, happily engaged with my life partner Michael, who is Croatian and bearing. I'm a writer, filmmaker, presenter and casting agent who promotes ethnic diversity, LGBTIQ and disability inclusiveness within the entertainment industry. My fiancé and I run the business together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here for the same reasons as everyone else is on - I believe in generosity (to a fault) and in the maxim "sharing is caring". I also believe in returning the favour. We have hosted many times to lovely people and we have stayed at amazing places so we know what CS is all about! Among other things, that's how you make friends in a very honest, memorable and straightforward way.

What I love about traveling as you know that it makes the world a lot bigger than your own backyard. Many never even venture out beyond their front step and you can't also fake worldliness either. I also enjoy that sense of lived-in experience and community aspect that you just don't get in an average hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Falling in love, which makes everything - the world - possible.

Recently I also presented a theatre show called "Who Speaks for Me?" about language barriers, migrant/refugee experiences and Asian-Australian life passages with my mum and grandmother as a storyteller/performer. We had an amazing, well-publicised and touching five-show run, during which time there was not a dry eye in the house!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Overall generosity, appreciation, respect, sociability, two different types of humour, my deaf identity and mild OCD as well as Michael's showtunes and his well-documented cooking!
