About Me

I got bit my the travel bug early in life and ever since then I've been trying to figure out how to see as much as the world as possible before I die.

I grew up in the US, moved to Asia after college, met my wife in the Philippines and brought her back to he US with me a few years ago. We now travel once or twice a year but hope to reach a point in life soon where we can travel all year round.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because when I travel I aim to live, breath, eat, and drink the local culture. There is no better way to do that than to meet the people who live there and make that place what it is.

I believe that there is no better place to get recommendations than from those who live there. I want to eat where the local eat and I want to eat what the locals eat.

I believe there is no better way to understand the local culture than to exchange stories, ideas, knowledge with those who live there. When I travel half way around the world I want to surround myself with locals, not other tourists.

Interests

I work in technology and so I'm obviously quite passionate about it. I have a deep love for architecture and design of all kinds. I love to solve problems for myself and other people.

My wife both have a great passion for cooking. We cook all types of food but are particularly partial to any kind of asian food. One our favorite things to do when traveling is visiting the market or wherever locals go to purchase their meat, produce, and groceries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ate freshly cooked iguana soup prepared by my guide who only moments ago captured the iguana from the top of a 20ft tree deep in the jungle of Cambodia.

I think almost everything at Burning Man is amazing and I feel fortunate to have been three times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love helping people with things like money, investing, taxes, and all the boring stuff that most people hate.

I'm pretty good with technology and can solve most technical problems that people often have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I share knowledge, skills, stories and always a great attitude.
