Overview
About Me
Currently studying International Politics in Manchester but originally from beautiful Cornwall. Big fan of nature, history, long walks, good food, social sciences, deep talks and other such vague and generic interests.
I find it quite hard to define myself as these days I feel like my identity is either changing on a weekly basis, or non existent. But be sure to meet me if you want to know more about my lockdown existential crisis 😉Nevertheless, some qualities of mine that I’d like to think are constant are being laidback, spontaneous, outgoing, adventurous, and just a tiny little bit crazy.
In a few words, I’m on a mission to remain completely open-minded, explore the world with a sense of childlike wonder, and embrace the uncertainty and absurdity of it all. My general philosophy is one of asking myself ‘why not?’ If you have a crazy plan or idea, be sure that I’ll join you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been fortunate enough to travel a lot in my teenage years, but have found that my most memorable experiences have been those spent fully immersed in the local culture through exchanges and homestays. For me, travelling is about learning and opening yourself up to new cultures and perspectives, rather than simply being a tourist and seeing the sights. I've met the most amazing and inspirational people while travelling and made friends for life, and for me this is the best part of it all 🤠

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my main method of escape, and I often spend hours going down musical rabbit holes on YouTube/ or Spotify, mostly when I should be doing something far more productive. I especially love learning about music from different countries. These days I’m listening to a lot of music from Turkey, Colombia, Brazil, Algeria, and Lebanon. I also find sharing music to be a great way to connect with people.
I listen to anything and everything, especially if it’s smooth and funky. Favourites include reggae, hip hop, RnB, and all sorts of house.
I mostly read non-fiction books about history, politics and travel. I’m particularly fascinated by Turkish politics, history, and culture, so I’m reading a lot about this in particular.
I don’t watch movies too often, but I do love a good documentary, especially those focusing on the more ‘taboo’ subjects or ‘alternative’ lifestyles.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tried to make a Couchsurfing profile that was somewhere between boring and serious and cringey and pretentious. It’s hard.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn more about not only the world, but also myself, through other people.
I don’t know about teaching, maybe I can help with English if you so desire, but then again maybe not after a few drinks, as mine goes completely out of the window 😬
