About Me

I have spent half of my life in Ukraine and the other half in the United States. I graduated in May with a Fine Arts degree, with a focus in interdisciplinary sculpture and textiles. I'm a bit shy, but look forward to seeing more of the world and making new connections.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have driven cross-country with my friends last summer, and can never stay in one place for too long. I have seen a lot of the United States since I have moved here, and had the opportunity to see some of Western Europe in December 2014 - which was my first experience couch surfing (it was great).

Interests

art, literature, music. I have amazing friends from whom I learn something new every day!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a pretty huge variety of music. I especially like garage rock/lo fi such as the Strokes, the Velvet Underground, the Black Lips, Fidlar, the Growlers. Also a big fan of Lykke Li and FKA Twigs. My Bloody Valentine, Dirty Beaches, Mazzy Star, CocoRosie, Etta James, Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Francoise Hardy...the list goes on.

movies: Ingmar Bergman's films (Hour of the Wolf, Persona) as well as old Soviet youth movies such as 100 days after childhood (Sto dney posle detstva). Some others ~ Brick, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, Chungking Express, Wristcutters: A Love Story, American Beauty, Rosemary's Baby, etc. My parents own hundreds of movies on dvd and I will probably never be able to see as many of them as I'd like to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove across the U.S. with two of my best friends for two weeks, mostly sleeping outside during the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to dye fabric using materials found in nature and weave on a floor loom. Also how to scoop a perfect cone of gelato and make a good cappuccino :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm learning how to cook and looking for more practice :)

Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland
