About Me

CURRENT MISSION

From childhood to the end, my mission will always be to, "Live. A lot."

ABOUT ME

My friends and family often describe me as the most random person you'll ever meet. I prefer 'spontaneously quirky' but hey, I do have some fairly random experiences that I accrued throughout my 29 years. (Frostbite?! Yelling expletives at a bear?! Living on all three coasts of the U.S., fracturing several of my ribs during a snowball fight, and the list goes on.)

PHILOSOPHY

"Live. A lot." is my mantra. Everything I have desired to do in life thus far, I have, simply because I take great risks. I am a ridiculously passionate person and well, life is merely the catalyst through which I get to be freaking passionate and adventurous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not available to host right now since I am moving into my own place in early May but I love hanging out with the many rad people of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've thrown my tent down illegally in so many places or slept in my car... that's not the most stellar thing to do during travels so I'm stoked that I've discovered CS. The best times I've had traveling were spent crashing on couches or floors of locals. I'm looking forward to my own space very soon so that I can host!

Interests

Hiking. Riding my bicycle (mtb and road.) Climbing things, like trees and rocks. Mountaineering. Hugging the trees. Culinary creativity. Sometimes reading and writing. Doodling in my notebook at school. Driving 8 hours RT to do a day hike...just because. Loving life. Deep thoughts while running. Beer--but good beer (unless it's PBR.) Education, of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. Music. Music: I love music whether it is listening to it, writing it or playing it, but more specifically jam bands, bluegrass & indie. Sometimes I secretly listen to Bob Seger in my car. Shhh! Don't judge. Books: I read a bit--pretty much everything from kids books to Kerouac (but I draw the line at Romance novels. Ew.) Films: The Power of One, Everything is Illuminated, Warren Miller films, Gandhi, Life is Beautiful, Love Actually, and a River Runs Through It.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In a former job, I had the opportunity to take urban kids backpacking, paddling, and really, to experience anything beyond their city boundaries for the first time in their lives. It was by far the most epic thing I have ever done in my life...
