About Me

Hi there,

My name is Lola and I am a Frenchie officially based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Though, at the moment, I am searching for a new place to call home while passing my driving license in France ;) (the nomadic life - if you know, you know).

I first came to Amsterdam 8 years ago to study International Business and languages. In the study, I got to travel some more which was amazing and I moved 6 months to Berlin and to Chile. I then traveled through the beautiful South American continent. I feel in love with the culture, the people, the language and I went back this years to discover some more. I spent 3 months in the jungle in a community in Costa Rica as a work exchange. I love community living, 0 waste environments, nature, music and being busy doing things with my hands and living alternatively.

After my first study, I needed to do something more creative so I did a bachelor in Fashion Textile and Design. I fell in love with natural dye and I am now working on different projects for festival etc. I love exploring my creativity/crafty things and I focus on finding sustainable and ethical practices in the industry.

Besides this, I am someone with a great deal of positivity so you can be sure that I'll bring that along. I love traveling in a way where I really get to meet and do things with locals and like-minded people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have used Couchsurfing for many years and travels and I love the people I got to meet and the time we got to spend together. I think traveling in this way feels more right and authentic.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide range of musical from techno to classical, reggae, reggae dub, trance music, jazz, rock. Really a lot of music as long as it is not commercial. I enjoy going to a jamming session, stand-up comedies, story telling.

In terms of movies, I've been brought up by a mother that goes a few times a week to the cinema (!). I dig small production films, art films...etc.

One book that marked me when I was younger was Into the wild (better than the movie btw), it definitely was aligned with my explorative adventurous young self.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's too hard to choose but:
I did the W track in Patagonia- so far the most amazing nature I ever seen!
I have spent 1 year in Australia in a host family when I was 15. Most life changing experience, since then I can not stop traveling :)
Other than that, I spent one week in Ibiza with one friend, one backpack and no accommodation plans... turned out to be one of my best holiday memory!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a vegetarian and I would be very happy to cook for you :) Though, I can be a bit flexible for the sake of trying some typical dish. Otherwise, I love a good talk or to learn about new things and get new perspectives on life, go for a walk or hike, watch a sunset or a jamming session. Anything really. I am also cool if you happen to be busy at that time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My good vibe and happy self!
