About Me

I was born on a small desert island called Aruba and spent my childhood there. I moved away in 2001 to Miami for one year then later to North Carolina, where I went to high school and college. I have been living in the Netherlands since 2011 to continue my education and in the process wrote two books about climate change, urban innovation, and critiquing our civilization's blind faith in highly technological solutions for solving social problems while ignoring the consequences of unbridled capitalism and empire.

I never judge a book by its cover and never cease to ask why. Inquisitiveness and curiosity are what makes our species so unique and to lose these traits is to lose our humanity. I believe in taking it slow, keeping your eyes open and basking in the beauty and terror of the world around us. The poet does not avert their eyes. The poet does not avert their eyes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couchsurfing back in 2009 while traveling for two weeks with some friends through Canada. After enjoying my experience so much I decided to become a member.

As stated before I currently live in the Netherlands and the sizes of rooms are quite small to say the least, so at the moment I do not have accommodations but as soon as I get a better room I'll let you know!

Interests

Fiction, philosophy, psychology, history, music, film, the world... just like most people (I hope). I have a wide range of interests and can talk about most things barring abstract mathematics and the intricacies of ancient Babylonian history.
