About Me

I was born and raised in California, went to undergraduate university in New Hampshire, and am reasonably knowledgeable about anthropology, economics, biology, computer science, and women's health. As the self-proclaimed queen of positivity, I'm generally very easy going, but not to the point where I don't have my shit together.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as music goes, I usually let Songza or Spotify take the reigns and set the mood, and end up not really noticing what I'm listening to...

Movies are more my thing. Top 5, in no particular order: Se7en, 10 Things I Hate About You, District 9, Amour, Lord of the Rings. Favorite movies that came out in the past couple of years or so: Her, Prisoners, Whiplash. To be honest, for whatever reason, I'm pretty big on horror movies and generally stay away from lighthearted movies, but that's probably because I'm so happy in real life ;)

Books: East of Eden, The Remains of the Day, His Dark Materials trilogy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got stuck at the lady who owned the land where the Uruk Hai/burning of the Rohan villages scenes in Lord of the Rings's farm. Many puppies and horses were pet and played with.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am pretty knowledgeable women's health and reproductive justice, the latter which may not really be as big of a deal in other countries, but is a persistent social and political issue in the USA. That being said, neither topic is probably that many people's cup of tea, so I'd be happy to share my experiences working at a non-profit with homeless and low-income women in San Francisco. I also love learning about the origins of people's religion, spirituality, and different belief systems.

I'd appreciate any chance to learn how to cook some easy regional dishes/family recipes from your area.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always happy to lend a listening ear (or talk your ear off if you're more into listening) and be a very brisk walking companion!
