ABOUT ME

I was born in London. However my parents are from Guyana. I worked in finance for 9 years then decided to take some time off. So I went to Peru to work as a volunteer teacher in Arequipa in Nov 2007. I taught children in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. It was an amazing experience! Then I travelled South America and Asia for the next 22 months. Now back in London working and enjoying life

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first learned of CS by a friend I met in Chile. That was back in Feb 2008. Since then I have been telling people about my experiences along my travels. I always try and meet up with locals whenever I am travelling in their country. I actively participate on the message boards. I am now back in London and always up for meeting new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Limited to mostly family and friends of friends until 2008. I have mainly been using CS to meet locals and practice my spanish when I was travelling South America. However I finally took the plunge and in July 2008 I had my first CS by staying with Mandy in Vegas. An amazing experience and one which will be hard to top. I also surfed in Mumbai in 2009 which was also a very positive experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I had an amazing Shaman experience in the Peruvian jungle.
- I met Maradona and shook "the hand of god"
- Worked with 50 or so Peruvian kids in Arequipa. An amazing gift to get hugs and kisses from them everyday. Something I will never forget!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently learning Spanish. Just a beginner at the moment. I happen to play a fair bit of poker and have run a few poker schools in my time:)
I would love to really learn Salsa and currently I am studying yoga.
