So! I guess at some point I logged out of this app and since I never check my email I completely forgot about hosting for awhile until Eric asked if we had had any requests lately. Life on our end has been hectic to say the least but we are definitely enjoying the ride. So if we didn’t get to host ya and you ever come around our neck of the woods please reach out again. Hello World! Just a nice, kind couple extending the hand of Texas hospitality. We work a lot! So if you happen to stop by please don't take offense if we leave you alone. If we are off we would love to hang out with you! We really are the type that just rolls with whatever comes our way. We are big coffee drinkers and tend to get up early to enjoy some time together in the mornings. I (Ester Marie) am loud by American, Texan, Mexican standards and hope you dont mind me in the mornings talking loudly or listening to music. Eric is calm and never wants to wake anyone up so is constantly shushing me which in turn is also loud, lol. We have 5dogs! I know a lot but they are all rescues we couldn’t help but fall in love. Yes they want to sniff and jump on you but if you tell them no they will stop. If you love animals they will love you just as much. They listen to our commands but they want to get to know you as much as we want to get to know you. We also have a cat named Charlie. He comes and goes as he pleases. If you have allergies our home is probably not the best for you. If you don't mind the furry babies then welcome. A couple of house rules but they really aren't hard to follow and are only in place so we both have the best experience. I also put them out there so we both know where we stand. I really really really prefer non smokers. I'm sorry but the smell of a heavy smoker can really make me sick. I dont mind people who vape but only outside. I have chairs out in the back and you are welcome to go out there and vape til your hearts content. Shoes! If you can please take your shoes off. We step in a lot of things through out the day and id rather it not be brought in. You can take your shoes off at the door and take them to the laminated floor. If you forget no worries I won't freak out but my heart will break a little. Our fur babies can run around as much as they please but if we tuck in before you all we ask is that you make sure they are not in the living room when you retire. Last one...if you are coming in late please just let us know. We dont mind late surfers but communication is a must. Just please keep in mind we set 4 alarms to go to work and sometimes ignore those so we fear that a very late couch surfer knocking will also go unheard. Again if you keep us posted we are very flexible. With that being said we set multiple alarms and they do get annoying. So so sorry in advance. Horrible rules I know! Side quest: We have several guest books laying around...see if you can find and sign them all.

Interests

(Ester Marie) I love the arts, especially street art! I also enjoy writing short stories and hope to someday share them with the world. I love to hike and explore the outdoors. We geocache when we go out on walks and sometimes tag random objects. If you ever see STedMari87, that's me. Recently I've taken up photography so my camera is always at arms length. I love to dance although I may not be the best dancer. I also crochet and can make one cozy blanket!

(Eric) I am a nerd at heart so if you start a conversation about film, comics, games, music, or anything at all counterculture we'll probably be fast friends! And if not, well then I'm super eager to learn your interests anyway! Feel free to join me at the gym or out around town for a drink or a bite to eat if you have time! After all, that is my favorite part of couchsurfing: sharing both our home and our experiences with the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

(Ester Marie)I love all sorts of music. I can jam to some rock and relax to some jazz. It all depends on my mood. When it comes to books I love Romance, Syfy, Historical Fiction, Autobiographies. Favorite Movies include, Independence Day, Jurassic Park, Some Like it Hot, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, The Princess Bride, Star Trek

(Eric) You can't go wrong with some Flogging Molly, Lagwagon, or some NOFX... but I'll take anything nerdcore hip-hop you might know to heart as well! Blockbusters are great and all, but have you seen Simon Pegg's earlier indie stuff? Also, I liked the British version of "the Office"... I didn't say better than the American version, but I still liked it!

Teach, Learn, Share

(Ester Marie) I can teach you basic crocheting and a little Cumbia dance. I'd love to learn German so any one fluent is always welcome. I can share my outlook on life.

(Eric) if you enjoy the physicality of it, join us for LARP or crossfit! For a less intense experience, we host a multitude of tabletop games to keep us entertained!
