About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see what everyone else in the world is doing

ABOUT ME

I hate this question.

Like most of you, I love traveling. I'm in it because, let's face it, the people and places of the world are brilliant. I love collecting stories and people, and am of the opinion that the more perspectives I expose myself to, the wiser I'll be. Also, I'd be something of a liar if I didn't emphasize how much I love eating in other countries as well. Mmmm, foreign food.

Anyway, I'm a fisheries biologist when I'm not traveling, but I also picked up a divemaster in my most recent travels so who knows if I'll stick with the biology pursuit or be a transient pro diver that wanders from coastline to coastline. Either way I'll be eating a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

I've studied science and the mechanism of evolution for many years now. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that we had a ridiculously small chance of seeing what we can see, and an even smaller chance to experience what we experience. Don't take it for granted. Don't waste it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I said when I got back from my little sprint around the globe, that I hoped my couch could get more ass than a public toilet seat. Now that I live in Seoul, it DOES. Ask and you shall receive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stirred up couches all over the globe, and found out just what a 'good host' is. I've met some of the most thoughtful, hospitable people imaginable, and now that I reside somewhere that people actually want to travel to, I try and employ the same virtues with the slew of people that walk through my door in Seoul. And by slew I mean A LOT...so my CSing resume might be ranked as 'seasoned', and my CSing personal experience would be auto-described as 'f%#@ing great'.

Interests

I have interests GALORE. The biggies are traveling obviously, ocean affairs, music, nature, art, piano playing, violent sports, and sharks. I'm also rabid about great whiskey, coffee, beer, and food. I'm a sick cook, and have very masculine drinking habits. In short, I'm interested in being injured, muddy, under the ocean, having good tastes in my mouth, banishing preconceived notions, and establishing what I do and don't care for with as little outside influence as possible.
