CURRENT MISSION
"It is so tempting to try the most difficult thing possible." ~Winston Churchill's Mom
ABOUT ME
Well, my name's Hurricane... need I say more?
I live up to it, though not in the distructive sense of the word. Born and raised in Colorado, I love everything this place has to offer, from amazing slopes to grand waters... pretty darn good wines and awesome micro brews.
I'm an adventure seeker and a gypsy of sorts. I love to share stories, but mostly hear what others have seen and done! There's just so much!!!
I have spent most of my life as an athlete and don't see that changing in the near future. At the moment it's all about tele turns and some backcountry access and hot chocolate (probably spiked). Other seasons I turn into a river junkie and if I have to be in the 'real world' I love a triathalon or nice 100 mile ride to join. I was a horse trainer for a good chunk of my life and still dabble in teaching and training.
PHILOSOPHY
I love challenges and adreneline rushes. From jumping off a mountain (hanggliding) to overcoming writers block or creating new recipes, my life is one big novel just waiting for the next wacky chapter.
My personal philosophy is: live and let live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I had a house in Georgia that I had open to CS in the past, but I've moved back to Colorado and do a bit of the couch surfing myself right now-- karma comes around!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had the opportunity to surf on many couches, and though I'm in a state of perpetual travel at the moment, I look forward to offering my house to surfers again in the future.
CouchSurfing has been so much more than a place to crash. It's created new friendships, lead to amazing adventures and opened up my mind and my eyes.
Interests
I'll try anything once. And yes, that includes grits and grasshoppers-- whatever the local diet may consist of. I love all things outdoors: fly-fishing, hanggliding, biking, walking, skipping rope, laying in the grass watching the clouds go by and even disappearing for a few days in to the back country.
I'm a big river rat and love navigating gnarly waters...
