About Me
I am happiest when the weather is mild and the air is fresh. I love good smells. I like walks in the woods. My favorite place in the world is the dock of the lake behind my house. I grew up on a farm with cows and the occasional horse. I don’t mind working or getting dirty. I am not a morning person. I am always tired. I don’t take pain pills unless I am next to death. I sunburn easily, and awkward tan lines last me years. I like car rides with music blaring and windows down. I like listening to a song for the first time. I can’t listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. I have a newfound love for Christian music.
Church is fun to me. I am scared of the speed at which we approach death. My faith in God’s “plan” and my mother prevent me from spontaneously combusting. My Christian upbringing provides me genuine comfort and a strong foundation of love, acceptance, and belonging.
I’ll probably never get a tattoo. I don’t really want one. I have two scars and three birthmarks, sometimes four depending on my sun exposure. I didn’t care about, or even understand for that matter, football until college. I planned on staying in bed for eternity if we lost to Auburn in the championship. I always knew I would go to UGA. It is the only school I applied to. I was born half-time of the Georgia v. Florida game on Halloween. I go back-and-forth on my feelings about being a Halloween baby. When I tell people I am one, it is almost always met with, “Well, THAT explains A LOT!” I have the sense of humor of a twelve-year-old boy. I am told I need a filter. I say what is on my mind. I don’t believe in concealing feelings. The more open you are the more you benefit from relationships; “You only get what you give.”
It bothers me how much we are on our phones. I am always misplacing mine and besides the threat of monetary loss, I don’t mind its disappearance. I think social media is great and useful for showing your great aunt in California what is happening in your life, but I think younger generations abuse it.
I worked at a movie theater. It taught me that I never want to work at a movie theater. I was a camp counselor. It taught me that cults aren’t half bad, because the entire counseling program is a cult. I babysit because it’s the easiest $10-$15 an hour I’ll ever make. I was a nanny for two summers. I love kids. Spending time with kids and their innocence is therapeutic. I want kids but not now. My parents are coming up on their thirtieth anniversary. I refuse to ever be divorced. I have only ever dated one guy, and it was for almost three years. I don’t like him anymore. I love my friends. I have really, really good friends. My best friend is named Maggie. We grew up together. We played tennis for four years. We tried the track team our senior year of high school. We still laugh about it.
I am good at cooking and better at baking. I hate messy things so I find myself cleaning without issue. I am very progressive in my views, but I know I would also thrive as a 1960s housewife. A dear friend once told me, “You’re too smart to be a housewife.” It made me settle on the decision to become successful in all spheres: both work and domestic. I am a go-getter, a self-starter. People tell me I am smart, but I believe that it is all relative. I have tested as gifted from an early age. I am really, really good at math. I struggle with writing. Bad grammar is one of my biggest turnoffs.
I don’t sing well, but I have reached the point in my life that I no longer care. I can play the flute. I can crochet a scarf. I used to be an extreme couponer. I am good at whistling. I cannot do a cartwheel. I like swimming. I was a lifeguard. I read like people diet: on occasion, I approach it full force ahead, but then I stop after a few days. I like reading though. I have reread the Hunger Games trilogy countless times. Dystopian societies fascinate me. War baffles me. I am really good at painting, but only a few people know that. I hate when people say they don’t like trying new things. I think life is all about experiences. Money is not everything. I cannot fathom sacrificing the wellbeing of others in the pursuit of a profit. I despise politicians, but one day I hope to become one. A good one. My passion lies in making a great change in the lives of as many people as possible. I have a lot of ideas. "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."

Music, Movies, and Books
I will listen to anything I randomly hear throughout the day. My taste changes with my mood. Indie for driving in the rain. Cheesy hits for driving on a sunny day with the windows down. Violin and piano for studying. Rap for the shower. I like everything (minus country music and metal). Most listened to song of 2017: Pillow Talking
Favorite Movies: About Time, The Notebook, Hunger Games Series
Favorite Books: Candide, Chasing David's Heart, Hunger Games Trilogy
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spend every summer as a camp counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. As a lifeguard, I made numerous saves. It's very rewarding but also very scary.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm studying political science. I know a lot of random facts about the environment and finances.
