ABOUT ME

I grew up in New England, Vermont and Connecticut mainly and moved to Alaska a year ago. I'm a lover of the outdoors and wherever I go, I feel most at home when I'm exploring them. I'm 23 and love that feeling that comes with traveling and moving, of making surprising connections with new people and places, both fleeting and lifelong. I'm more quiet than talkative but am inquisitive and love learning people's stories and different cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked on a whale watching boat this past summer and seeing what I saw every day was pretty much amazing. One particular time though I saw a sea lion playing with a humpback whale calf (pestering it, more like). The humpback kept throwing up his tail and bright white fins and tumbling in the water closer and closer to our boat, trying to rid himself of the sea lion. Sea lions have no personal boundaries... I could see the whale's long white belly and hear the grunts and gurgling he emitted between splashes. He was only meters from where I stood and so massive. I had the most overpowering feeling, one I came to know quite well, of wanting to jump into the water after them.

I'm a champion bleeter. In other words, I'm really good at conversing with cute little sheep. Or so I've been told. (By the sheep).
