About Me

I currently live in Eugene Oregon, where I am a student in the MA program in Italian Studies, and where I also get to teach the language to undergraduate students. I am originally from Wales, UK and I've been in the States for almost two years now. I've also lived in Italy for a while, since I studied in Bergamo (Northern Italy) for a year, as part of my undergraduate program. I've spent brief extended periods in India, Japan, China and various parts of Europe. I absolutely love meeting new people, gaining new insights into the ways other people live, and generally sharing positivity and encouraging it to grow in this big old world which can sometimes be a sad and scary place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So the cool thing about couchsurfing is that you just do something nice for someone just for the sake of being nice, and you learn something new about the world, and usually have a great experience. I've always generally been the host, apart from one time when I couch surfed in a town in Italy, close by to Naples.

Interests

Always interested in meeting new people. Interested in politics, current affairs, culture, literature, history, language learning and cinema. Crazy about music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Breakfast Club, 500 Days of Summer, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Silence of the Lambs.

Absolutely anything, especially stuff from the 80's/90's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are two things really; the first was living and working in Athens at the Special Olympics.
The second was my time spent in Japan (probably the most amazing country in the world) - I worked for 70 hours a week for some time until I could afford to travel in this wonderful country. The best thing I have ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language skills (English, Italian); musical knowledge; moral support, friendship and philosophy; a plethora of life experience. Bloody good company and someone who won't let you down.

What I Can Share with Hosts

New cultural insights, friendship, cooking skills, excellent taste in music, bundles of positivity.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Malta, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States
