About Me

Kia Ora :)

I'm Laura/Lau/Lore.

I'm currently travelling around NZ in my campervan whilst I work on a few different projects relating to my music, following the release of my first album last year.

I'm also a researcher and I'm currently exploring new ways for artists to exist in the modern world, which began last year when I left my job in advertising and developed a new approach to recording music that helps return the autonomy to songwriters.

I love to write, sing and do music and because of my community arts background (growing up alongside of my community artst mother) I always have a giant box of art materials, and I enjoy sharing my materials and doing creative sessions with people I meet along my travels.

I also recieved my neurodivergent diagnosis for ADHD last January and and unofficial one alongside of it for low support needs autism (at the age of 30) and so I am now extremely interested in the human brain and how we can make the world more accessible for all different brain types.

I also enjoy doing 'unoffical' music sessions with adults and kids, to help inspire new ways of looking at how to create, which has happened organically during my travels so far, but is something I am open to doing more of when the situation presents itself.

I'm vegan and love to cook and enjoy sharing recipes, or helping out if you're ever feeling uninspired and would like some new ideas.

I love all animals and grew up with cats and chickens.

I enjoy yoga, surfing and swimming and any kind of nature-related adventure.

Before living in a van and travelling NZ with my music I was working in media and advertising in London and Leeds in the UK and if I am back there in the future and with a solid base again I will be open to inviting couch surfers to stay with me :)

More information on my projects and my music can be found on https://www.loreamore.com/

And my album 'In Hopeful Abandon' is on spotify and all other streaming sites under 'Lore Amore'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

-I love people and meeting new people. Sharing perspectives and insights on how we view the world and learning new knowledge about the places I'm travelling to.

-One of my projects relates to the energy exchanges that are available as a means for people to exist and gain new experiences, without money needing to change hands. Therefore I am excited to share some of my skills and knowledge in exchange for meeting new people that I will be staying with :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I busked my way aroundGlastonbury festival with a recoridng device as part of the preparation for recording my first album! It was wildly chaotic and I had so much fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

-Free flow creative session (for adults or kids - where I'd bring the materials.)

-Vegan baking (for adults or kids - sharing my favourite cake and cookie recipes.)

-Vegan cooking (cooked for you or with you if you'd like to learn a new vegan recipe.)

-Music inspiration session (for adults or kids - where you share the instrument that you are currently playing and let me know if there's any areas that you'd like to be more explorative, i.e. how to improvise on piano, some little tricks for getting out of ruts with guitar playing and an introduction to songwriting.)

-Guided yoga /stretching session (For experienced yogis or those new to it who would like to get a taster)

-Music sharing session (With me playing some of my songs, either as a little gig or I can talk through the process of making some of them if you are interested in song creation processes.)

I feel more comfortable when staying with guests if they have chosen something that I can return in exchange for my board, so if nothing above strikes your interest but anything else in my profile leaps out, let me know what you would be interested to share or exchange whilst I stay :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I haved listed some ideas on what I would be happy to offer in exchange for staying in the 'teach, learn, share' section :)

A few food related reviews from people I have stayed with:

'I would happily enjoy your cooking forever'

'You should open a restaurant'

'I will have to abduct you'

'We miss you already'

'SO GOOD. Even though it's vegan...'
