ABOUT US
While I am a wife (married 45 years), a mom of five kids with five grandkids and love my home, I'm pretty independent. I love getting together with friends for coffee, talking about life and God. Relationships are very important, both friends and family. They give me a chance to express my belief that life is very valuable. I love to learn and find new experiences very invigorating. Travel allows me to do things that I love (explore, teach), meet new friends, learn & experience new things.
While I travel abroad to teach, my husband and I have couch surfed together on occasion. He grew up in India and loved it. We are well matched travel partners because we love to wander streets in new cities and act like locals rather than tourists.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is inherently valuable. We want to treat ourselves and others like we believe that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I get very excited when I receive an email request from a surfer! We always say yes if at all possible because we don't want to miss out on an opportunity to learn from someone from another culture and hear about their experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed a few times in Turkey, Syria, Canada, Italy and France and loved it! We've had quite a few CSers in our home which has been great to learn about places we might never visit. I love telling people about CouchSurfing! They are shocked that something like this exists, wondering if it could actually be safe. So it's fun to tell them great things about the wonderful people involved in CouchSurfing.
Interests
Learning new things, travel, great coffee, baking, conversation, understanding how God reaches into humanity, gardening, decorating.
Randy is an IT guy at an Aboriginal friendship centre and enjoys travelling and playing guitar (bass, electric, acoustic) as well as tackling projects that make our home more beautiful.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had the unbelievable experience of teaching in North Korea, Laos and Northeast India. I love telling people about my experiences and life in those countries.
Teach, Learn, Share
I make very delicious cinnamon buns! If time allows and someone is interested, I'm always up for showing how easy it is.
