Hey there!

I'm Loren. I'm a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine physician, a health enthusiast, a tea drinker, and gay.

I have an inexplicable fascination with traditional Chinese culture, a fascination that has been with me since childhood. Thus, I speak Mandarin Chinese, practice Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and study taiji quan, qi gong, and meditation. I also eat with chopsticks whenever I can ;)

I studied philosophy in undergrad and Chinese medicine in grad school. So I make for a very... unique... conversation.

I have a natural ability for languages as well. I speak English, Spanish, Mandarin, and I know a few phrases in Gaelige (irish) tehee

I've just returned from a year an a half abroad. On that trip, I explored 21 countries (if you count Hong Kong). My life was transformed. Now I am back home in Topanga Canyon working to get myself on my feet. I'm happy to be with my family, but there are still days in which I long for the exquisite simplicity of life on the road. So, I'd like to live vicariously through your stories.

I wish I could host you. Counchsurfing made my expedition possible, and it provided me experiences I could never have had any other way. However, my living situation is not currently conducive to that. Nevertheless, I'd love to meet up and share in a little bit of your life.

I marched in the prohibited Istanbul pride parade and was forced to outrun pepper spray, rubber bullets, police dogs, and riot police.
