About Me

I'm Lorena, a 28-year-old travel enthusiast from Bogotá, Colombia. I love exploring new places, meeting interesting people, and immersing myself in different cultures. When I'm not on the road, you can find me reading a good book, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, or enjoying a hike in the great outdoors.

I'm friendly, open-minded, and always eager to learn from others. I believe that the best way to experience a place is through the eyes of the locals, which is why I'm so excited to be a part of the Couchsurfing community. Whether it's sharing travel stories, discovering hidden gems in your city, or just having a great conversation over a cup of coffee, I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of human connection and the unique experiences that come from staying with locals. For me, travel is not just about seeing new places, but about truly understanding and experiencing different cultures.

Couchsurfing offers a wonderful opportunity to step beyond the typical tourist path and build genuine relationships with people from all walks of life. By sharing stories, meals, and moments with my hosts, I hope to create meaningful memories and gain new perspectives that will enrich my journey and theirs. Plus, it's always exciting to welcome travelers into my home and hear their incredible adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to movies, I have a diverse taste that ranges from heartwarming dramas to thrilling sci-fi adventures. I enjoy films that tell compelling stories and evoke strong emotions, with some of my favorites being "The Shawshank Redemption," "Inception," and "Amélie." As for books, I love getting lost in different worlds, whether they're found in classic literature, gripping mysteries, or thought-provoking non-fiction. Some of my favorite books include "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "1984" by George Orwell, and "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. I also enjoy discovering new authors and genres, always eager to find the next book that will captivate my imagination.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had the incredible opportunity to embark on a variety of exciting adventures and experiences. One of the highlights of my travels was backpacking through Southeast Asia, where I hiked through lush jungles, explored ancient temples, and learned to cook traditional Thai dishes from a local chef. I also had the chance to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary in Africa, working closely with conservationists to protect endangered species. Back home, I've completed a challenging marathon, proving to myself that determination and perseverance can lead to amazing accomplishments. Each of these experiences has taught me valuable lessons and fueled my passion for exploring the world and making a positive impact wherever I go.

Teach, Learn, Share

On Couchsurfing, I am excited to teach others about my passions and skills. I can share my knowledge of cooking, particularly my favorite recipes from different cuisines I've picked up during my travels. I'm also an avid reader and love discussing books and sharing recommendations. Additionally, I can offer insights into photography, having spent years honing my skills and capturing moments from my journeys. In return, I am eager to learn from my hosts and fellow travelers. Whether it's picking up a few phrases in a new language, discovering local customs and traditions, or learning about unique hobbies, I am always open to new experiences. Above all, I look forward to sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations, creating memorable connections with people from all around the world.
