About Me

Hi, I am Lorena, I'm 25. Originally, I am from a small district near Rijeka, Croatia. I enjoy singing, playing ukulele (terribly), writing, sports and almost any other kind of socializing. I am also a human rights activist and volunteer in several different organizations. I'm outgoing, pragmatic and quite stubborn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here because I want to meet new people from all over the world, both as a host and as a traveler. I want to explore new cultures and the best way to do that is to get to know the locals. So, I'm ready to be your local and I hope you will be mine too (so cheesy).

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually like and can appreciate almost any kind of music that is performed and requires skill, but mostly listen to classic or indie rock (I am also not really good at recognizing genres).
Top movies: Shutter Island, Love Actually, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Erin Brokovich, Forrest Gump
Top books: definitely The Song of Ice and Fire

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was one of the most prominent members of a 2-year resistance movement at my faculty were we fought against nepotism, clientelism, corruption, and bribery in the highest academic circles. We took over our faculty, changed the dean and organized protests and educational workshops to inform people of their rights. We also created an active student body which continues our legacy in other forms.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you some of the best alternative places in Zagreb, places which have a strong sense of community and will make you feel extremely welcome.
Also, you can see one of the best views of Zagreb from my apartment!

I would looove to learn more about your food and culture, and discuss our differences. After all, it is what I'm studying.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Literally just stories and croatian food.
