Hi there world!

My name is Lorena, but as sometimes is hard to pronounce people call me Lore, Lolo, Lo, Lorelei... as you prefer. I am a very friendly person, little introvert but very opened to listen and see. I have a degree in Literature and I am working (not very hard as I should) for finishing my Master in Social Work... that's my mainly resolution for this year!
I was an aupair for 2 years in the US and I had the opportunity to meet amazing people and terrific places. I think that the world is so beautiful, but even if there are a lot of ways of communicating through the network, nothing compares to live aboard and visiting new places and knowing more people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is my first time using Couchsurfing, I am very excited to know more people and listening to their stories about places and experiences.

I have decided that after 2 years as an aupair, I want to go and visit in Europe some friends that I met during the program in the US. At the same time, I would like to explore beyond, and in this community, I think its possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't decide for just one. I am always open to new music, I think that music has a powerful influence on everybody's mood, so I try to keep it cheerful. I love live music of any genre. Also, old Latin music, rock, and jazz are good options.

I am very passionate about movies, I go to the cinema every time I can. I don't like very commercial movies filled with action and crazy narrative, I prefer deep stories. Every year I try to see all the Oscar's nominates and I have my own contest.

Between my favorite authors, there are Murakami, Zadie Smith, Sandra Cisneros, Kundera, Saramago, Tomas Gonzalez, Clarice Lispector...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year I went to Puerto Rico and visited the bioluminescent bay in Viales. I felt like in a Disney movie with the shiny water in the middle of the dark night... beautiful!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love baking and cooking, I am open to share recipes from my country and try local food everywhere.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share from my experience in the US how to enjoy the different places and save some money. I can recommend where to find cultural, touristic, clubbing activities depending on the interest of the visitors.

I can teach useful Spanish with a Colombian accent.
