About Me

Grew up in the beautiful countryside surrounding Mordano, a little town near Bologna (or almost!). Since then, I started appreciating nature with all my heart and dedicated some of my time to reading in the green. I am very keen of all arts. I love drawing, painting and discovering other ways of expressing oneself. I deeply enjoy reading; I choose books mostly based on true stories, classics, or "famous" books+ Fantasy (it is so creative!).

While attending a high school specialized in languages in Italy, I managed to travel around Europe quite a bit and did some cultural exchanges in countries like Finland, UK and France, which made me want to keep on travelling and meeting new people.

After this, I moved to the Netherlands to study Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and I have spent 3 exceptional years there, where I had the chance to learn loads from another culture, meet wonderful people from hundreds of different countries (each of them with their special personality and interesting manners). I just graduated and started a career in research in molecular psychiatry.

Soon I will move to London to attend my Master in Behavioral Genetics and am looking forward to all the new experiences this adventure will bring!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe visiting one place implies more than simply checking its most famous buildings and venues. When there's the chance to meet people living in a given city, then you can fully experience a place . In this way, it is possible to explore the most hidden and interesting spots, to discover the "soul" of a city and of a culture.

I love ending up in little cute streets with small houses and flowers on the balcony. I find it a pleasure to see and engage in the typical habits of people living in a city/country. And most importantly, I believe life is really enriched when new people are met, different perspectives are given, and different behaviors are observed.

So I see couchsurfing as the best way to spice up and enrich trips while learning from others' ideas and perspectives :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: anything with good lyrics

Movies: Psychological thrillers, romantic comedies (I know...this can be a problem...but I swear I'm not going to bore you with them if you are not a fan :) ). Some of my favorites: Shutter Island, Perfetti Sconosciuti, Two weeks notice.

Books: Anything - it just needs to be a good story. Currently reading Homo Deus. Just read The Schopenhauer Cure. I sometimes read some philosophy texts just to stop from frenetic moments and think about life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Loads of pressure in this question...but here are some perhaps interesting things I've done!

- Travelled by camper most of Italy
- Moved to the Netherlands with no idea of what that would be like
- Collaborated with Professors from all over the world on research papers

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
