About Me

I'm a 23 years-old student from Italy. I'm currently studying composition at Novara's Conservatoire and physics at the University of Milan and collborating with a Foreign Languages centre near Milan, for which I invigilate exam sessions and hold English certification courses.
I'm still living with my parents, since I still don't need to live anywhere else because my studies and my job don't need me to move a lot.
I love sports: I've played basketball for 13 years before switching to the practice of Ju-Jitsu, in which I wear a blue belt. Plus, I enjoy both rollerblading and running for fitness.
I feel I'm a versatile person, (almost) always ready to changes and capable of adapting to (almost) any situation.
If you ever get a request from me... remember I wouldn't mind even sleeping on the floor! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to sign up after having known of this network through a friend, who's successfully tried this new way of living a holiday. I find it a great idea, helping to abolish every prejudice people usually has on apparent strangers.

Interests

I've played the piano since I was 11. I've never given it up, even though I've never studied it seriously as I've done for the past 5 years. Sorry, Bach.
I started enjoying musical composition like 3 years ago. That was my entrance to the world of music software and music notation programs. I still have a long road to run in this field, but I'm optimistic. Here's the link to my SoundCloud profile, if you want to know me through my sounds: https://soundcloud.com/lorenzo_rossi

In these last years, I've also got deep into traditional Scottish music by starting to play the bagpipes - that's tons of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up with pop music. Nothing to regret about that, but a more classical formation would have helped in my actual studies. However, I have no problems in listening to each and every kind of music, from the most ancient to the most avant-garde. My favourite kinds of music, by the way, are soundtracks, many kinds of metal music and traditional folk music.

I like superhero movies such as Marvel's or DC's ones. I also enjoy alien movies and I don't mind cinema in general.

I'm not a keen reader but I prefer essays to novels. I am very lazy at picking up a book to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In July 2017, I've spent an amazing week in Edinburgh. I've been there before but, since I was basically travelling alone, I had the opportunity to both better know the city and the Highlands and to meet many wonderful people from all over the world (literally!) I had an amazing time with.

I spent my 2015's summer holidays with a couple of friends mountain biking along Liguria's coast. Five days cycling through the epic landscapes (I'd dare to say "seascapes") my country offers.

Another amazing thing I've done is working for a month in the UK as an activity leader in a summer school for youngsters from all over the world in 2012. Sounds amazing to me!

An eventual host is likely to receive some of the stuff I might know on request!
