About Me

Hello dear traveler, host, friend!
I‘m Lorenzo from Germany and I recently graduated from my studies of environmental engineering. I have been working for some time in Switzerland in the field of sustainability and I‘m planning to hike the Shikoku Henro in the first part of 2023. I would be very happy to meet you somewhere before, after, or alongside my hike:)
In my past experiences I've learned that everyone here, who shares the curiosity and passion to meet kindred spirit, has an exciting story to tell. And for me, traveling is not about visiting many places, but about the people who I meet on this journey and experiencing the unique atmosphere that ever place characterises.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to share my time together with people from all over the world and reveal every time another small piece of the big puzzle of life. Connecting with just a few of all those great people here makes me really happy and I get energized to go beyond my thinking again and again.
Experiencing that the trust you give to other people is payed a hundred times back in a richness of unforgettable memories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music from all over the world, but mostly I listen to English pop music and gentle jazz. Recently, there are also some Japanese and Indian songs in my playlists, as usually add songs that I connect with nice experiences. Every now and then, I jump also to these playlists with electro-swing, Beatles songs and Lofi music..

I get easily lost in fantasy books, travel stories and graphic novels, sometimes you can find me even reading wikipedia pages like books. One of my recent favorites is a Brief History of Humankind. Also, I love the photo books of Sebastião Salgado.

Movies that I can watch over and over again are The Intouchables, The Blues Brothers and Studio Ghibli movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing with a group of people in a Contact Improvisation event through the night barefoot in one of the parks of Tokyo city.
Playing with really happy kids in a small village in Burkina Faso during my volunteering there.
Visiting friends in their university in Chennai and suddenly meeting all their friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I'd meet someone who knows everything and who can do everything, and I could not even share a simple thing, that this person wouldn't already have experienced, I would at least share a smile. Because this is what ultimately connects us and this is where all friendship starts.
In my freetime, I like playing drums, cycling, badminton and cooking. Maybe we could enjoy cooking dinner together? When you give me two hours and a pan, I can prepare a german pancake :)
Oh, and one strange habit of mine is that I like repairing things. So maybe I you have something that doesn't work, I can try to fix it ;-)
