About Me

I have been dedicated to my work and to my family until now. As a physician, I have had the unique opportunity to care for persons from all walks of life, and especially to assist the underserved. I have found this very fulfilling.

Now that my two sons are grown, I want to experience new cultures and visit countries different than my own. Whenever possible , I prefer to be an active participant- rather than an onlooking tourist. My sons have convinced me that couchsurfing provides this unique opportunity.

I enjoy the outdoors and new adventures. Life is to be vibrant!

I am neat and courteous and appreciative of other's hospitality. I am a nonsmoker and I do not use drugs. I am glad to share conversation and a glass of wine with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently between jobs, and I will start a new position in the US in January 2017.
From November 22 through Dec 27, 2016, I have the opportunity to travel. I am excited chose Africa as my destination. I hope to learn about the history and peoples of Southern and Eastern Africa, to experience a Safari, and to volunteer my skills.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like drama which is thought provoking, and most types of music. Dancing can be great fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Years ago, a group of us put forth stockholders proposals at the annual meetings of Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds Tobacco Companies. We brought the Marlboro Man who was dying of lung cancer, to speak at these meetings. We asked the tobacco companies why they were marketing cigarettes to children and adolescents. We interviewed the tobacco industry scientists who first found that nicotine was addictive.
It saddens me that tobacco companies have expanded their reach around the world in order to remain profitable. In the US, cigarette sales are finally decreasing.
