About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm about to turn 50 but feel a lot younger. I don't drink but I do like to meet new people. Unfortunately, English is the only language I can truly communicate in, but I promise I am not your typical American. My politics are very left and I have a daily practice of yoga and meditation. I tend to have friends from all over the world and while I can't afford to travel a lot, I do believe that peace could be better achieved through meeting new people than by expecting diplomats to achieve any level of deep understanding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Very new on the site and was primarily hoping to meet people when I travel to Europe in April. I don't drink, so I'm not the person to ask out for drinks, or to show people around the whole bar scene. I am someone who loves art, music, fresh air, and my city, and I'd be happy to make recommendations for anyone traveling for cultural enrichment. If you are traveling for business, I won't be able to help you much. I don't spend any time downtown and am not much business minded myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was just sent a lovely Sufi song by someone I'm going to show around the area.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I adopted my daughter from Cambodia. She is now studying in Italy. She speaks four languages, and someday she'd like to go to Japan. I'm happy to have raised a citizen of the world.

I do spend time at an AIDS hospice where people are actually getting well and getting to go home. It has taught me that my life challenges are small potatoes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I prefer people who specifically are interested in meeting me and do not send out mass requests to hang out. I'm not someone who enjoys parties, even though I host them for a living. I like poetry and the small beautiful things in life that do not involve a computer screen, no matter how small or smart or convenient.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden, United States
