About Me
Writer, poet, journalist and fitness freak.
I am obsessed with learning about other cultures and love to cook; I can make anything from authentic chai to pub burgers.
I have alot of stories about alot of places and would love to swap them over food and/or drinks!
Hosting as of June 21st 2024!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet local people with a similar mindset, all of my favorite memories travaelling have been meeting people and spontaneously deciding to go for dinner in the souk after a walking tour or tagging along with locals for a beach day.
I also feel it's important to learn about a place from a locals perspective which this app facilitates, one of my favorite stays was at a hostel in ramallah where I loved with 5-7 locals depending on the day who I got to eat traditional food with and would take me with then on their daily excursions.
Interests
I love politics and learning about other cultures. I try and get my information on situations by being there and hearing what the people experiencing it have to say though this I can't do this for every situation I feel its important to balance out my perspective.
I love eating good food in an area I travel to especially food that is traditional or unique to that area though to date the best meal ive had was turkish food in London!
* Update, turkish food is now tied with the food my long lost Russian mother I met on couchsurfing Ana made me!
I also love music im a really big fan of Rick james, though more mainstream I like the who the rolling stones and AC/DC. Almost anything with a good bassline will win me over!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a intermittent reader ill swear books off because they take to long then I'll read 10 books in 2 weeks because books are the only good source of information, I tend to read biographies and self help but feel I've kind of saturated the self help genre so I've moved on to classic fiction. I tend to stick with informal writers like Charles bukowski or Kurt vonnegut though I just finished my first hemmingway (the old man and the sea) which I enjoyed.
With music I love classic rock and R&B and everything from yellowman to Dean Martin. My main artists are rick james, the temptations, the rolling stones and serge gainsbourg. I love artists like serge gainsbourg who will topline over a variety of genres from jazz to reagge to rap.
I don't watch alot or TV or movies (mostly youtube) but I love films like goodfellas and the wolf of Wallstreet, I also enjoy watching whatever is new at the theaters every once in a while if it's somewhat within the crime or comedy genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Turkish hamam in Istanbul, the masseuse (65+ year old turkish man possibly an ex-wrestler) didn't speak English so he would just grab you and flip you over or push you into the floor to work your arms. To date the cleanest I have ever been and all for less then $40 CDN including 3 sodas!
