My husband and I are interested in meeting with ACTIVE Couchsurfers. If you are looking for a place to crash, then we are not the people for you.

We want to discover as much of the world as possible while interacting with active Couchsurfers.
If you are new to CS and only want people to host you during your trip and have no intention in being a host then we do not think this is the spirit of true CS.

ABOUT ME

I am a retired teacher and my husband is retired. We love to cycle, explore the jungle, and discover beautiful places in the world. We prefer small towns to big cities. While visiting we love to be amongst the people and do not like to go to big resorts.

No public transportation, so you MUST have a car. We are 20 minute drive from Niagara Falls.

You MUST state in your request that you have your own car. If you do not we will just automatically answer NO to your request.

Life is short and you need to enjoy it now. Don't wait till you retire.......it might be too late.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted many people and have surfed a few couches. When we cannot host, people contact us and we help out by making suggestions, mostly about what to do in the Falls.
I also like to keep in touch with past surfers. I consider most of them friends..........

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Summer of 2007 we visited a family in France and they came to see us. We had a great time! It was like meeting up with our long lost friends. We hosted a few people from Europe and then visited them in Spring 2008.
We couch surfed in the United States. All were very positive experiences.
Summer of 2009 we hosted people from Sweden, Cincinatti, Texas and Puerto Rico. We are also members of another hospitality site and have references there also. So far in 2010 we hosted people from Belgium and California, United States, France and Germany.
In 2011 we surfed in South Carolina and in Florida.
Since then we have continued to host and be hosted. Too many experiences to list.

My spouse and I differ in these areas as our interest vary. I love comedy, current music, 80's and many types of books. I do love memoirs, true stories of people who had difficult lives and are happy and productive members of society now. Recently read The Glass Castle and loved it.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

We did scuba diving in Belize, Cozumel, Honduras, Dominica, St.Lucia and Bonaire. Exploring this underwater world is amazing.

We also did white water rafting in Costa Rica and loved it!
I have overcome many fears...........just do it!
