I am a lover of new experiences! My lifelong mission is to gain experience in as many aspects of our diverse world as possible.

ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing and adventurous individual. I often do not say no to an opportunity merely because the word no is so full of limitations. I am a lover of the Earth and a preserver of nature. I dabble quite a bit in the social sciences and enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life. I think positivity and optimism are our real escapes in life and due to these two outlooks, no experience is a bad experience.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still working on my personal philosophy. Although, I do try to remind myself every day not to get too caught up in the trivial things in life. We are only on this earth for a finite amount of time and should cherish every day we have.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first attempt at participation with Couchsurfing. I've had an account for years and have always planned on hosting as soon as I was able to. I'd have loved to show surfers around my town but we don't see much traffic through Cape Breton. Whenever there were surfers here, I've always seen their posts after they've come and gone.

None as of yet but I'm hoping to have many, many, positive ones!

I am interested in a wide array of things. Mostly, I am interested in new experiences. With that said, when travelling, my interests are the interest of my host. I enjoy immersing myself in the local culture; whether it be at a local pub with good conversation, or checking out local landmarks and historical sites. I am drawn to outdoor activities predominantly and would like to see different geography.

I usually tend to read non-fiction, scholarly novels. Usually, the topics are either social or environmentally orientated. I enjoy all types of music, especially live, local talents. My movie tastes are divided 50/50 between interesting (and usually environmentally orientated) documentaries or Hollywood's latest box-office blowout.

I am a volunteer firefighter and hazardous material tech. I enjoy talking about the fire scene with those interested. I find most all things new to be fascinating and often walk away from new experiences feeling like I've gained something very valuable. I would be very interested in learning just about anything!
