About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To host some good people in the city of Philadelphia.
ABOUT ME
The other day someone on the street asked if I considered myself more hippie or hipster. Grabbing my chest in pain I said, "I am more nerd than anything."
I enjoy just about anything, meeting new people is very high on the list. Revisiting cities I have lived in as a youth has been very fruitful over the last year. Been to several new places as well, all of which were a blast.
Cooking has always been something I've had a knack for, I have picked up some good recipes over the years. You'd be surprised at what I can do with some beans.
I am just a very laid back guy who would absolutely love to meet you, and sleep on your couch.
PHILOSOPHY
If religion is the opiate of the masses, then the institutions are its greatest peddlers.
The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~St. Augustine
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
New to the website, though couch surfing has been a bit of a hobby of mine. Several friends and I have a book exchange that takes place every time someone is visiting. Hosted a few friends from across the continent, would really love to have some new people over.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a family from Detroit for several days, showed them as much of Philadelphia as time allowed. Did some urban exploring in an abandoned hotel, quite fun. Also met some new people from the Philadelphia area through them.
Friends in Denver, Colorado had myself and two others over. Participated in some community organizing workshops, went hiking up in Boulder. This was the visit that really rekindled my love of couch surfing, and now there are websites to help me? Crazy times we live in.
Interests
The Russian card game, Durak. I was so proud when I made the person who taught me the durak s pogonom.
Learning about the local history of places I'm visiting is fascinating. Local bands, museums, and workshops of all kinds are great ways to really get to know the community. Arcades that can support my dancing game addiction. Sharing stories and personal experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
There are too many bands to list so I'll just say that I listen to all genres, though I am very picky with artists. That1Guy is is an amazing one man band.
Documentaries, good movies, good bad movies, but not bad good movies. Grew up on cheesy horror flicks and I still love them.
Harry Turtledove writes alternate timeline novels. Terry Pratchet writes fantasy comedies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to the Mutter museum which is one of the most unique little places in the world.
Hiking in the Appalachian trails of Pennsylvania is an amazing ongoing process.
Mammoth Cave National Park is most definitely amazing and I've been through there a dozen times or so.
I was attacked by a pack of ostriches once, I think that was pretty amazing. So did the farm owners.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people how to cook, play Durak, start a fire with no lighters or matches, how to sow, how to start guerrilla gardening.
I want to learn anything that you can throw my way, new ideas, new skills. I'm down for anything, especially more recipes.
Share stories, couches, toiletpaper, anything that I have.
