About Me

CURRENT MISSION

- focusing on my writing on Substack (my publication is called SO REAL, check it out to get a feel for me: https://tamaralefay.substack.com/)

- saving money for another trip to India this winter

- making "pain au chocolat" out of pain ... day in and day out. ;)

ABOUT ME

My name is Tamara and I live in a cosy little flat with my 11 year-old Svarun and our cat, Mišo (literally meaning "mousey"). I love soul-deep conversations (aka swimming in the ocean naked at midnight with someone), singing while someone's playing the guitar (especially around a fire), getting lost in nature and mythology. My son is into stats and facts, geography and video games (duhh!).

PHILOSOPHY

Changing as I'm changing. But one thing always remains the same: I make love with each moment that arises. I love being human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Due to my son's school I can't travel abroad as much as I would want to - so I'm allowing the world to come to me. And if I can help someone while at it - brilliant.

Interests

I am multi-passionate, but lately the most important one is this:

I am a singer in a band called AMAN! since February. We play sevdalinkas (Bosnian folk music) and gypsy music. I'm in love with this project.

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's not say "favourite", but "last", ok?

Last song I listened to: Uncle John's Band by Grateful Dead.

Last movie I watched: half of La Vitta e Bella (my son was playing around with the symbol of swastika and we needed to have a conversation about WW2, so we started watching La Vitta e Bella; by the time they took them by train, we were bawling and couldn't watch any further and my son was like: "Ok, ok, I get it mom, it was horrible.")

Last book I read: Communion: A female search for love by Bell Hooks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Canarias with my 2,5 year-old to spend two months in a tent on the beach with no running water or electricity.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's see, shall we? This one is always a mystery.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can have a deep conversation and I can sing you a song. If you say yes to the second, you probably won't be able to stop me after song no.1. You have been warned.
