I started backpacking with my mom and my grandma at the age of 5 with my sisters. They had a lot of balls taking 3 kids under 10 (my sisters and I)inter railing around Europe for 6 weeks every summer, roughing it on trains and arriving in places with no accommodation plans and just seeing where we could get a room for the cheapest. I remember one night we ended up in a cold war-esque tower block on the outskirts of Budapest!

After seeing most of Europe i set my sights further. I flew to Ghana at 18 and spent the next 2 years living, travelling, working, volunteering in Africa, South America and South Asia. I settled down in London to study a degree but had to keep on moving. I worked as a cocktail bartender every weekend during my studies so save for more adventures. After my second year I circumnavigating the globe for the second time during my summer vacation. Hitting Japan, China, Indo, Aus, LA finishing with a month in Colombia. In between these long trips I travelled for short breaks to Morocco, Malta, Tunisia and the Gambia on cheap package deals. After my second year I travelled through central America, south africa and eastern europe. After my final year I backpacked through the Middle East and travelled through Africa with my Mom and sister. I travel as much as I can and its quite an addiction!

I love wandering, I'm a free spirit that acts too impulsively at most times (something I'm working on). although this get up and go without thinking attitude has lead me to the most wonderful places. I really am an anything type of person, i love nature and could be happy stuck by myself in the middle of nowhere but also love people and cities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Originally joined to get advice from couch surfers in Sierra Leone and Cameroon to advise me on weather conditions in the summer so now set up a profile and can't wait to start couch surfing, as when i do have a home where ever it will be, i will reciprocate.

Interests

I love Africa, the culture and the people. I am obsessed with Latin American culture, music, cuisine, dancing, lifestyle. I love good food particular Mexican food and Japanese cooking. I'm a bar and restaurant connoisseur and spend most of my time with my head stuck in time out guides. I enjoy long trips away from europe, I would love to travel more in west africa. I love observing how people interact with each other,i love watching cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy everything from reggae, Ghanain high life, African blues,baile funk, bossa nova, French electro, Italian minimal. I love spanish cinema, anything by almodovar or anything by inarittu, i love latin cinema and any film set in africa. as for books Life of Pi and the alchemist are favourites. I've recently got into books set in the run up to decolonisation in 1950s Africa and also books written by West Indian immigrants and their experiences arriving in post ww2 London.

I am a walking lonely planet guide. I love sharing advice of what to do, where to stay, eat. So many people have done this for me a long the way and i love to keep the advice rolling. I have a salsa enthusiast and love teaching people some basic steps. I also have a big taste for innovative cocktails and could show you the basics if your interested.
