About Me

***on july 16th 2015 our son ágúst sumarliði arrived and we said goodbye to all our free time. we´re too busy right now and are really short on space but if you want to meet up then let us know for sure :)***

CURRENT MISSION

make a kite out of squirrels and fly it to the sun :D

ABOUT ME

it´s a story of james and audra:

James:

every day is the best day of my life.

i play with cars. i play with electronics. i play with music. i play with friends too. sometimes i'm out and about and meeting new friends and seeing cool places and i like it :)

of course everything isn´t always sunshine and roses and the music director at my school once described me as "rude, arrogant and selfish" and i´m sure that all 3 of those are a part of who i am so i guess you´ll just have to come and find out for yourself.

Audra:

I was born and raised in Lithuania, currently living in Iceland really liking it!

In my life I've met some really good people, raised 3 kittens (raising 4th now!), made couple paintings and lots of photographs, fell in love only two times and baked a lot of cakes, wrote a lot of letters and made some great dinner parties. :}

I really love my family, James, our awesome friends, sun, food, ocean, dresses, wine, movies, forests, theatre, berries, cookbooks, inspiration, strong coffee, flea markets, afternoons in town, lilies of the valley and I love life.

Couple of my great CS moments:

*had some yummy 'White Russians' with Honorata
*was inspired to start cooking Thai food by Corinne
*found out we are twins with lovely Ella
*discovered the name of my future bakery with Julia
*went to see erupting volcano and got to know 100 ways to love a cat with Johnny
*have tried the craziest peanut butter/ginger/sweet potato soup thanks to Amy :}
*got some funny chinese stickers to warm your body at winter from Kay
*made a plan to visit beaches and flea markets in Seattle with Sophia and Sasha
*were walking around Reykjavík couple hours and searching for a perfect afternoon dessert (we found it!) with Sara
*were driving couple hours to swim in a lava pool with Sara, Kári and lovely James
*had one of the best dinner parties with Eli and Casey + thanks for taking my cake recipe abroad! :}
*had really nice cheesecake made by Jess
*fell in love with French red wine (thanks Regan!) and was impressed by Regan's beard
*had a great afternoon in flea market and delicious latte afterwords with Julia
*discovered the best vodka on the rocks (Polish Hazelnut vodka) - thanks Kaja! :}
*cooked really wonderful indian dinner for three hours with Karin.

And it was all sooo good. :}

Oh, and we LOVE cheese. :Þ

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We meet people. people meet us. we all have a great time. it's not rocket surgery, really.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some people stayed for a night, some people a month. some have come alone, other in large groups. they came from every part of the globe and spoke many different languages. their taste in music has varied. they have been of all genders, all religions and all possible sexual orientations. many we´re still in contact with, some we have visited on my own travels. as for hosts, we could never have asked for better.

Music, Movies, and Books

James:
Music - oooh, from autechre to sigur ros (the old stüff - their new stüff is horrible pop rubbish), from local australian bands (shoutout to because of ghosts) to the beatles, from plaid to pink floyd. having said that i'm pretty picky when it comes to music. special shout out to the anticon label. if you know who i´m talking about, you should definitely be staying here.
james´ last.fm profile: http://www.last.fm/user/lotsofmagnets

movies - koyaanisqatsi is my fave. see it. other movies worth a note are eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, punchdrunk love, yellow submarine, englar alheimsins. others.

books - hitchhiker's guide or anything by douglas adams who proves that well written books don't have to be painfully boring or conceited.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived our lives.

james:
climbed to the top of a mountain in the fog. swam naked in a river with friends i´d only just met. survived a major car accident with nothing more than cuts and a sore neck. gone out for a night on the town.

Teach, Learn, Share

James:
it's amazing how far a simple smile goes.

Audra:
teach me your favourite dish and I will teach you mine! Let's make this world a better place with lots of yummy dinners!
