I'm very lucky that my job takes me all over the world - I've been living in San Francisco since August 2017 and spend my free time seeing as much of the States as I can. I love to travel alone and definitely prefer an adventure to a lazy holiday, I always build in time to go hiking or to try out something totally new. I'm always grateful for a guide in a new place but I'm equally happy to head out and explore on my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a solo traveller I love meeting new people, and while hostels can be ok for that I find the friendships I have made through couchsurfing more interesting and lasting. There's something about seeing a new place from the eyes of a person who lives there which you can't get any other way.

Interests

I’m currently into triathlon - and there's no better way to see a new city than by running or cycling around it. I enjoy taking pictures and am looking to branch out from landscapes, which are beautiful but faces can be so much more interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mostly sci-fi and fantasy, though I’m trying to branch out and seeking recommendations! I'll listen to most music, but especially love folk. I had a long stint playing violin and a short stint playing guitar - sadly lacking in talent but an enthusiastic listener. Music nights at bars and pubs are some of my favourite things - I love live music and hearing what the locals have to offer!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving the C28 between Swakopmund and Windhoek in Namibia. An unpaved road through the wilderness, with not a single soul in sight and zebra, ostriches, and antelope running alongside the SUV.
