ABOUT ME

I'm an open minded girl who loves traveling and trying out new things. I like to meet new people while I'm traveling and also when I'm not. In 2010/11 I lived in Rwanda for a year for a volunteer service and that really impressed me and left a mark I guess.
While I'm not traveling, I like to spend time with my friends, if it's for a coffee or Gin Tonic or for partying and dancing the night away :) I like Salsa dancing, especially Rueda de Casino. I just moved to Cologne for my Referendariat, after living in Münster for 7 years. Now I have to get to know the city and its people.

HOW I TRAVEL

I travel by the motto "The journey is the reward". It's not all about where you end up, but what you experience and get to know while heading there. That's partly why if possible I prefer to travel by bus or by train rather than by plane (and the climate is the other reason of course).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted some people while living in Rwanda. During my travels I was hosted by Couchsurfers, but also enjoy meeting locals through Couchsurfing for a coffee or especially for meal times, so they can introduce me to their culinary culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Me and my housemates hosted some people in Rwanda, which was always a lot of fun! I love getting to know new people and sharing experiences, especially when I'm in a foreign country. And I like to offer people a place to stay and taking care of them, if I can.

On the other hand, I got hosted so far in Nairobi, Cologne, Amsterdam, Cambridge, and some places in China, Japan, and Botswana. I am always looking for people to host me when I'm traveling, its such a great opportunity to meet new people, who know their way around and share some fun stories or views of the world.

Interests

I'm interested in many things, and many I probably have already posted above. I like spending time with friends, but also being on my own sometime. I like cooking and I also enjoy good food :) I love dancing, I do ballroom dancing, but lately especially Salsa.

I'm always happy to cook something for you if you want to! And I think we can have some interesting conversations about all kinds of topics, such as world politics, feminism, so called development, or whatsoever..
