About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world in 365 days

ABOUT ME

Artur and I left Australia on the 25th February 2008. Our goal is to see as much of the world as possible in 365 days.

We are travelling backpacker style, trying to absorb as much of the local culture of each place as we can.

We were initiated in the couch surfing culture by one of our friends from Melbourne who regularly hosts people at his house - Hotel Henning. We have enjoyed hosting many of Artur's international friends, and thought that this would be a great way to meet new people and get a local's perspective on each place we go to.

PHILOSOPHY

Our approach to life is a very easygoing one. We love to share a good laugh and see the brighter side of life.

Interests

Artur and I love music, outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking and surfing. We love to watch international films and try to cook meals from different countries. If you have the chance, we would love to learn a recipe from you and try to make it too!

Music, Movies, and Books

We also love to learn new things about the world by reading about different events in history and local customs, and by experiencing new things. Loren enjoys crime novels, especially those by Patrica Cornwell. Artur loves books with dry humour, such as those by Jeremy Clarkson and Karl Pilkington.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Ho Chi Minh Zoo, we saw a sheep trying to protect a female goat who had her head stuck in the fence, from horny male goats who were fighting to get to her.

Teach, Learn, Share

If a sign in a backpackers hostel says to leave valuables at the front desk, it generally means that they and their cleaners will help themselves to anything they can find in your bags.
