About Me

Hi folks

I am twenty-six. I travel a lot. Sometimes to catch up with friends and sometimes because i get restless. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, the works!

Although I am English I grew up in the south of France and speak fluent french. I get by in Spanish and German too if that helps!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a little challenging for me to say exactly what prompted me to make this account other than that it is obvious to me that it is something worth doing. It just seems like the most natural thing.
Actually, come to think of it, I do remember! It was out of necessity. I was travelling up to see my mate in the Scottish borderlands and got stranded in Edinburgh for the night. I got my father to make my account, over the phone (unfortunately/fortunately i wasnt in possession of a smartphone at the time) and this actually saved me from spending the night in the snowy streets..
Since that auspicious night it has been a great resource, that I have drawn from whenever I have spent some time on the road and for that I am forever thankful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once swam across the Ganges with my mate Oli. We were sat at a cafe and all the while down below, the Gangees, gun barrel grey, was threading its way through the sands of silver silk, that punctuate the landscape in Rishikesh. It was a hot, hot day and besides it was to be our last afternoon in that idyll. So we rid ourselves of our books and our few belongings, scrambled down to the bank and took on the godly torrent. It was freezing and a little frightening as the current was sweeping us downstream at an alarming rate. But we braved it and eventually we washed up on the opposite bank, exhausted and beaming with childlike joy.
