About Me

These things are always hard to write, and it's best to meet and chat over a beer or some other nice beverage.

I like to think of myself as relaxed and open minded. I enjoy a laugh and a good conversation. I like to cut past the niceties and get in to the guts of things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm on my way back to Aus for a visit, with a few stops :) Up until now I have mostly surfed, but also used CS to find some lovely housemates along the way, as well as meet up with some great people in the places I have traveled to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am still relatively new to couchsurfing. Though I have hosted couchsurfers (or couchsurfing types) and I've also slept on many couches in my time (and floors, and chairs, and bus seats, and awkward positions).

Interests

Ceramics, walking, listening to music, playing guitar, reading, writing, cooking, gardening, people watching, languages, books, making lists, making more lists, maps, travel, the ellipsis...card tricks (I'm not saying I can actually do any), bad jokes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - My music tastes range from Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell to trip-hop to Django Reinhardt, to Paco de Lucia, to electronica, to gyspy music, to Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Bill Callaghan, Nicholas Jaar, Bombay Bicycle Club, Chopin!... My tastes are varied, and I am always looking to be introduced to something new.

Books - The same goes, from Vonnegut, Hemmingway, Pessoa, Fitzgerald, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Franzen. All sorts really. I'm building a to-read list right now, so don't be surprised if I ask you for your favourite book of the moment.

Films - Pans Labyrinth, Big Fish, No Country for Old Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Breaking the Waves etcetc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There have been so many beautiful sunrises and sunsets, so many nice walks and interesting places and people, I can't pick just one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to learn spanish, so anyone who can help with that is appreciated. Would love to learn anything to do with guitar. Oh I have lots of things I'm interested in learning about, so tell me everything you know.

I can teach you some guitar, I'm mostly a beginner but hey! I can teach you how to juggle - in a very basic sense haha. In recent years I have become a pretty good cook!

I think sharing skills is wonderful, but I also really love just sharing a good conversation :)
